Emergency and Critical Care
Emergency Service offers 24 hour, emergency service 365 days a year. Staff and doctors are experienced in all aspects of medical and surgical emergency care. Our veterinarians and staff have extensive emergency experience in treating and managing patients with multiple traumas, poisonings, rattlesnake envenomations, bite wounds, foreign body removals, bloat, pregnancy and delivery complications as well as various medical conditions including heart failure, pancreatitis, kidney and liver disease. Experienced knowledgeable staffs are always available by phone for questions regarding emergencies.
Surgery
Surgery Service is available by referral from your veterinarian Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment. Our board certified surgeons have extensive experience in the surgical repair and correction of all major orthopedic conditions and soft tissue problems encountered in our companion animals. Our surgeons specialize in state-of-the art knee and hip repairs at both our Escondido office and our office in Kearney Mesa.
Radiology
Eklin Digital Radiography System allows us to digitally send radiographs to a board certified radiologist for review. In addition, radiographs are provided to referring veterinarians in an easy-to-use CD format. We also provide specialized radiological services such as CT's or MRI’s in cooperation with the Veterinary Imaging Center of San Diego.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is available on a case-by-case basis. It is a therapy that has many benefits for musculoskeletal disorders in animals and can be used as an ancillary treatment for many conditions. The initial consultation includes a complete evaluation as well as recommendations for treatment. Consultations are available on Wednesdays with Dr. Amanda Aldridge. Internal Medicine and Oncology
Internal Medicine Service is available by referral from your veterinarian Monday through Thursday by appointment only. Medical services offered include comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of medical disorders. Such disorders include gastrointestinal disease (i.e. vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, weight loss); liver disease (i.e. hepatitis, lipidosis, hepatopathy); hormone disorders (i.e. diabetes, Cushing’s disease, thyroid abnormalities); heart disease; respiratory disease (i.e. chronic coughing, pneumonia, asthma, tracheal and laryngeal disease); blood and bone marrow disorders; nervous system disorders; infectious disease (i.e. bacterial, viral, fungal, protozoal, or tick-borne disease); disorders of the immune system; urogenital disease (i.e. kidney, bladder, reproductive); and cancer. Specialized services performed by internal medicine specialists include ultrasound of the abdomen and heart, in addition to minimally invasive procedures such as fiberoptic endoscopy (of the gastrointestinal, respiratory and urogenital tracts). Laparoscopy service is offered and allows for the biopsy of abdominal organs without performing major surgery.
